The Dealer Reassignment of Title portion of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles’ (RMV) Drt-1 Form is a supplemental transfer document. It should be properly completed by a licensed Massachusetts dealer only when all other dealer re-assignment spaces on the Certificate of Title form are complete. This includes out-of-state titles that are transferred by a Mass. dealer.
You are applying for controlled forms that are tracked by the RMV and are to be used by your dealership only. They may NOT be shared with, or loaned to anyone.

Improper use or improper completion of the DRT-1 Form, or failing to use it when required, may result in suspension or revocation of your general registration and “Dealer” plate. The RMV will notify the city/town of improper use and recommend license revocation.

The Registry of Motor Vehicles requires that we have a photocopy of your current year’s dealer’s license and plate registration on file. Your order will be returned for non-compliance
Reminder: Never give out Form DRT-1 to other dealers or private parties. These are assigned to you & your dealership. How they are used and handled (or even mishandled) is your responsibility!
First time order for 2007: Attach a photocopy of your 2007 Dealer’s License AND Dealer Plate Registration. If you do not have a dealer plate, attach a photocopy of the owner’s drivers’ license.
Re-order for 2007: It is not necessary to attach a copy of your 2007 Dealer’s License or Plate Registration. Complete this form and mail with payment, if applicable, or members may fax order to MIADA.
