Dr. Lawrence Quigley - MIADA Scholarship Application

Since 1997, the Massachusetts Independent Automobile Dealers Association has honored graduating high school seniors with $1,000 scholarships. The scholarships are named in honor of Dr. Lawrence Quigley, who served as a faithful member of the MIADA Board of Directors for many years. Dr. Quigley continues to serve MIADA as the honorary chair of this highly acclaimed event. To date, 237 students have been awarded this scholarship. Our scholars include outstanding athletes, talented musicians, splendid scholars, gifted artists and compassionate and giving stewards of our communities.


DIRECTIONS FOR APPLICANTS  (DEADLINE 4/15/2022)

Make sure you have all the required information and documents before you begin the application.  Once submitted everything will be reviewed by a MIADA Staff member.

To be eligible, you must

  • Be a high school senior, with plans to continue your education;
  • Be the child or grandchild of a MIADA member (or the child/grandchild of an employee of a MIADA member) in good standing as verified by the Association;
  • Possess a solid high school record of academic achievement;
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for post high school education which will be measured by performance on college entrance exams, including the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), or American College Test (ACT), or other standardized tests, if applicable;
  • Demonstrate involvement and participation in extracurricular activities which may include music, arts, theater, community projects, sports and other character building pursuits;
  • Complete this form no later than Midnight Friday April 15th, 2022. all information supplied by you is for use by the Scholarship Committee of MIADA; (Confidential information that is not to be used for publication should be clearly marked as such by the applicant.)

It is the candidate’s responsibility to make all arrangements for college admission and to provide evidence of acceptance and enrollment to the Committee before the funds will be released. The scholarship amount of $1,000 will be awarded directly to the winning scholars.

Scholarship checks for $1,000 each will be awarded to the winners. The Committee determines winners, and the decisions are final. Criteria for selection include academic performance, extracurricular activities and community contributions, as well as evidence of strong college aptitude. Each scholarship will be funded upon notification of enrollment in the college of the winner’s choice. Acceptance or enrollment notifications can be forwarded with the application, or separately, on or before Midnight  Friday, April 15th, 2022.
